Luke Kennard, Detroit Pistons (2017)

The only reason people talked about Luke Kennard during his rookie season is because he earned the dubious honor of being “the guy taken one pick before Donovan Mitchell.” In former head coach Stan Van Gundy’s desperation to make the playoffs last season (and save his job), he pulled the typical move of over-relying on veterans and burying the young guys — like Kennard — on the bench.

Despite averaging over 41% from three, Kennard averaged only 20 minutes of playing time per game (and scored less than eight points per game while on the floor). Only one season into the league, and new Pistons’ head coach Dwayne Casey is already being charged with “fixing” Kennard.
