Last year’s trade to Chicago worked out perfectly for both Mack and the Bears. To be fair, he’s not the only great player on Chicago’s defense, but he was clearly the catalyst for the Bears being one of the top defensive teams in football last year. Mack’s 12.5 sacks last season helped him win the Butkus Award for the second time in his pro career. It also left no doubt that he’s worth the $141 million contract he got from the Bears.

It figures to be business as usual for Mack in 2019. At age 28, he’s very much in the prime of his career and will be among the best edge rushers in the NFL once again. Mack also has plenty of help around him in Chicago, making the Bears a force on the defensive side of the football once again.
