As the 8th-overall pick in 2017, most expected McCaffrey to be good, but it’s safe to say that the son of longtime NFL receiver Ed McCaffrey has matched or exceeded all expectations over his first two seasons. He was a one-man wrecking crew for the Panthers last season, even though the team took him off kick-returning duty. He’s surprisingly tough between the tackles, which is why he was able to rush for over 1,000 yards last season while also catching over 100 passes.

With Cam Newton coming back from shoulder surgery, McCaffrey could be the most important player on Carolina’s offense in 2019. Whether it’s on the ground or in the passing game, the Panthers are going to ride McCaffrey as much as possible and see how far he can carry them.
