4. Drew Brees
There was a point in time where the idea of a quarterback throwing for 5,000 yards in a season was a mind-boggling feat, and yet the incomparable Drew Brees broke the 5,000 yard passing mark four times in a six-year span, and leading the NFL in passing yards five times in a six-year span (and the one year he didn’t, he finished second). He is approaching PhD-level mastery in Sean Payton’s passing offense, and even as he enters the twilight of his career, he broke Peyton Manning’s record for the most passing yards in NFL history.
At the time of this post, he is 20 touchdown passes away from breaking Brett Favre’s record for the most passing touchdowns in NFL history as well.
