For all the great things accomplished in Steve Young’s career, including pairing with Jerry Rice to become the most prolific quarterback-wide receiver combination of all time (in terms of touchdown passes), few moments will be more iconic than the moment he mockingly removed the proverbial “monkey off his back” after leading his San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl XXIX win.

In said Super Bowl win, Young set an NFL record by throwing six touchdown passes, which is a record that still stands today. Despite being the starting quarterback of the 49ers for seven full seasons, Young was the NFL’s top rated passer in six times and led the league in touchdown passes four times.
