More than any guy on this list, including the guy at #1 overall, it was Kurt Warner who truly enjoyed the most “Cinderella”-esque NFL career trajectory. The well-told story of how Warner went from a grocery store bag boy to the NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP is almost too good to be true. After having to step in for the injured Trent Green in 1999, Warner would end up leading the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns, and being named league MVP in just his first NFL season; he repeated both feats again in 2001, when he led the Rams to the Super Bowl as well.

Then, as one final feather in his hat, he led the Arizona Cardinals to the franchise’s lone Super Bowl appearance in 2008.
