Ed Davis arrived to the University of North Carolina as one of the top 15 high school players in the nation in 2008, and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team during his first season in Chapel Hill (in which the Tar Heels won the National Championship). But after enduring an injury-curtailed sophomore year, Davis cut his proverbial losses and declared for the NBA draft after his sophomore year.

Taken with the 13th pick of the 2010 NBA Draft (three spots after Paul George), Davis averaged 7.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in his first two seasons with the Toronto Raptors, and from 2013 until the present, Davis has played for four different NBA teams, averaging 6.2 points and 6.9 rebounds in that time.
