North Carolina Tar Heels That Made Their Names In The NCAA But Couldn’t Cut It In The NBA

Even bitter rivals along Tobacco Road would have to acknowledge that Chapel Hill, North Carolina – home of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels –  is one of the true “holy shrines” of college basketball. The aforementioned program has not only won six national championships, but boasts two of the greatest names in all of basketball – Michael Jordan and Dean Smith – among its ranks.

But like many other successful college basketball programs, the guys who’ve laced it up in the Dean Smith center haven’t always gone on to NBA stardom. For every Jordan and James Worthy, or even guys like Vince Carter and Antawn Jamison, there are a list of guys who were the “big man on campus” in Chapel Hill, but had non-descript – if not forgettable – NBA careers.

Today, we “celebrate” the latter guys. Here’s our list of some of the best players in recent memory to suit up for the University of North Carolina, but totally flop (for the most part) in the NBA.
