Hines Ward
Coming out of the University of Georgia, Hines Ward was a “slash” player, who played wide receiver, running back, and quarterback at various times. But after the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him with a third-round pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, Ward went on to be one of the most consistent wide receivers of the 2000’s, accumulating at least 975 receiving yards eight times in a nine-year span from 2001 onwards. The two-time Super Bowl champion retired after the 2011 season.
He’s kept rather busy in retirement, he won ‘Dancing With The Stars Season 12,’ he completed the Ironman World Championships in 2013, tried out as a coaching intern with the Steelers in 2018, and because of his Korean heritage (his mother was Korean and he was born in South Korea), Ward was named as an honorary ambassador for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
