Larry Johnson
An All-American running back at Penn State who won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards, Larry Johnson was the first round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2003. After finally getting the chance to start when Priest Holmes suffered an injury, Johnson ripped off consecutive seasons with 1,700+ yards rushing and at least 17 rushing touchdowns. In 2006, Johnson was named a first-team All-Pro after running for 1,789 yards and 17 touchdowns, while adding 410 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Johnson’s career was cut short due to injuries, as he officially retired from the NFL in 2011. Johnson believes that he has Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) as a result of playing in the NFL, and tries to spend time with his daughter to help relieve the symptoms.
