Once upon a time, the Denver Broncos were producing running backs like they were running an assembly line. Gary was one of those guys. As a rookie, he stepped in for an injured Terrell Davis and rushing for 1,159 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games.

However, Gary suffered a knee injury the following year. By the time he returned, the Broncos had six other running backs who were capable of rushing for 1,000 yards (rough estimate). Gary never quite returned to full health, so even a move to the Lions in 2003 couldn’t resurrect his once promising career.
