Edwards owns one of the greatest “what could have been” stories of all time. As a rookie with the Patriots in 1998, he rushed for 1,115 yards and nine touchdowns, gaining another 331 yards and three touchdowns receiving. However, he suffered a devastating knee injury while playing flag football during Pro Bowl week in Hawaii. At the time, doctors weren’t sure he’d ever walk again.

Through a lot of hard work, Edwards finally made it back to the NFL in 2002. He caught 18 passes and got 20 handoffs with the Dolphins. But that was the only pro football he played after his brilliant rookie season.
