Woods might as well have been shot out of a cannon with the immediate impact he made as a rookie with the Bengals in 1988. He led the NFL with 5.3 yards per carry, not to mention 1,066 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns, playing a significant role in the Bengals reaching the Super Bowl. Alas, he tore his ACL the following year and couldn’t get his starting job back by the time he recovered.

After another knee injury a couple years later, Woods was finished in the NFL by age 26. We’ll never know what could have been had he stayed healthy. However, he still holds over two dozen Bengals franchise records.
