While every NFL Draft analyst spent the spring shouting from the rooftops that Tim Tebow shouldn’t be drafted as a quarterback, the Denver Broncos — under head coach Josh McDaniels — threw all that advice to the wind, and took Tebow anyway. While Tebow did lead the Broncos to the playoffs, we now know that was more of a result of their running game and a very underrated defense.

Could Have Drafted: Devin McCourty
Two picks after Tebow was taken, the New England Patriots — McDaniels’ former team — took defensive back Devin McCourty. McCourty entered the league as a cornerback, but the Patriots made him into one of the best safeties in the NFL.
