As one of the “Godfathers” of the crossover dribble, Tim Hardaway facilitated the Golden State Warriors’ “Run TMC” era, with Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond. After being traded to the Miami Heat in 1996, he was part of many legendary battles between his Heat team and the New York Knicks.

After retiringn from the NBA in 2003, Hardaway’s name popped up in the news a few years later, when he made the following homophobic comments after it was revealed that former NBA player John Amaechi was a homosexual: “”Well, you know I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don’t like it. It shouldn’t be in the world or in the United States.”
