Detlef Schrempf
The German-born Detlef Schrempf played in the NBA for 16 seasons, including stints with the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, the Seattle SuperSonics, and the Portland Trail Blazers between 1985 and 1991. The eight overall pick of the 1985 Draft was a second-team All-American at the University of Washington, and a member of the West German basketball team in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
After a career spanning 1,136 regular season games and 114 playoff games, Schrempf was an assistant coach for the SuperSonics for two years. As of 2010, Schrempf is Business Development Officer at Coldstream Capital, a wealth management firm in Seattle. He and his wife Mari also do philanthropic work with his Detlef Schrempf Foundation, which provides hope, care and assistance to children and families of the Northwest.
