What makes you pause the television when you’re watching a movie? Sometimes it’s something historic, sometimes it’s something shocking, sometimes we do it to catch our breath after an incredible scene. Whatever the reason, films have the power to make us stop and say, “Did you just see that?”
Here we’ve put together a list of just those moments. In this list are scenes from movies that have made you stop in your tracks. In this list are scandalous moments, hidden secrets of the film, and classic moments. Most of these moments will be familiar to you, but some may show you things you hadn’t seen before.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Is Pulp Fiction Quentin Tarantino’s greatest film? Probably, right? It’s a gritty, no holds barred look at the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles. Every character is larger than life, and every scene is wilder than the last. The film has some massive names in it as well, including John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Willis, and Uma Thurman.
This scene in particular is a classic, with Jackson and Travolta getting caught in a shootout in an apartment. However, what’s noticeable about this still shot is that there are already bullet holes in the walls despite the firefight not having begun yet. Oops!
