Adreian Payne was another year guy that filled up the box scores for Michigan State. He shot over 41% from deep over his career in East Lansing and looked like a prototypical NBA stretch four, which led to his selection just outside the lottery in 2014 by Atlanta. The Hawks hated him, so much so that they dumped him 32 games into his rookie season in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Payne averaged under three points a game for three years in the NBA and never found his way, and that first round pick Minnesota gave up turned into Kevin Huerter, a promising Hawks rookie this season. As for Payne? He’s not even playing in Europe anymore.
