2. Draymond Green — 2012
Is it too soon to list Draymond Green as the second greatest Michigan State player ever to play in the NBA? Maybe so. After all, Draymond ranks eighth among Spartans in win shares behind fellow second round pick Eric Snow, but Green’s career has a long ways to go and his game has always been more intangibles and defense than something you can put into numbers. Green is a Defensive Player of the Year and a three time All Star, and he’s played on three NBA champions… and counting.
He often leads the Warriors in assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks and he leads them off the court too with his brash leadership as the heart and soul of one of the greatest teams ever assembled. Draymond Green is a future Hall of Famer, and even with all the talent around him, he might still be the most important Golden State Warrior.
