2000 — Morris Peterson

Mo Pete was Mateen Cleaves’s running mate on the 2000 championship squad, and he went seven picks after him, going 21st to the Toronto Raptors. Peterson was… fine, and honestly, he’d probably be better and a little more appreciated today in a 3 and D mold.

He shot 37% from downtown in the NBA and was a consistent, solid scorer that was kind of okay at everything. A few more three point attempts and a few less twos, where Peterson shot only 45%, would have been nice but it’s hard to blame him — we hadn’t learned in the aughts yet that three is greater than two.
