Dixon was drafted 17th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by his hometown Wizards. He was a fan favorite due to his history at Maryland but was a role player at best. Dixon played 9 seasons in the NBA for four different teams. He retired with a scoring record of 8.4 points per game.
