Most people outside of the midwest will either hear Travis Prentice’s name and think “that rings a bell,” or will not have ever heard of him altogether. But the former Miami University of Ohio running back once held the record for total career touchdowns (78) and rushing touchdowns (73), and his 5,596 career rushing yards remains in the top 10 of most career rushing yards by a college football running back all time.

The Cleveland Browns, in the second year of their “return” to the NFL, used a third-round pick on Prentice in the 2000 NFL Draft. However, he lasted only two seasons in the NFL, finishing with a grand total of 187 carries for 525 yards (averaging 2.8 yards per carry).
