1. Wilt Chamberlain — 1959
But one name reigns supreme among Kansas Jayhawks in the NBA. Wilt Chamberlain is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He led the league in scoring 7 times and in rebounding 11 times, making 13 All Star teams and winning four MVPs and two championships. He’s the only player in league history to average 30 points and 20 rebounds a game over a season, and he did it seven times.
He’s the NBA all time leader in rebounds, sixth in points, and second in points per game. Chamberlain once averaged 50 points and 25 boards for an entire season, he holds the NBA single game record with 100 points scored. He had his number retired by three different NBA teams, and we could fill several more articles with all the absurd numbers and accomplishments Wilt the Stilt had during his storied career. Turns out one all time historic great covers a whole lot of Kansas sins, even 60 years later.
