Long rumored in trade deals prior to the 2017 season, the Chicago Bulls finally “freed” Jimmy Butler when they reunited him with head coach Tom Thibodeau and traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In Minnesota, he’s the highest-paid player on the team, even more than “franchise cornerstone” Karl-Anthony Towns. But once Andrew Wiggins’ four-year, $146 million extension kicks in after this season, he will take the mantle of highest-paid player on the team.
