Sean May
Sean May started at center for three of the four years he was a member of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. After playing alongside Raymond Felton and Rashad McCants in the 2002 McDonald’s High School All-American game, the three of them led the Tar Heels to a National Championship win in 2005. After winning the title, May declared for the NBA Draft, where he was taken 13th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats.
But, May struggled with injuries right from the get-go of his professional career. After undergoing microfracture surgery in 2007, he had a myriad of complications after the surgery, cutting short his NBA career. While he did play overseas for several years, he retired from basketball in 2015. He is now on the coaching staff at his alma matter.
