12. Todd Gurley, Rams (Stay-Away)
Gurley is such a tempting player to take because when he’s healthy he’s one of the most impactful players in the league and a fantasy goldmine. But it’s such a massive risk considering the injury questions regarding his knee. He clearly wasn’t himself during last season’s NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl, and it’s impossible to know with certainty if he’ll ever be the same again.
Moreover, the Rams used a 3rd-round pick on running back Darrell Henderson, which indicates that they’re not completely sure about Gurley’s health. At a certain point, you have to draft Gurley if he’s available because the upside is high. However, there’s a reasonable chance that the knee will continue to be an issue and he’ll either miss a chunk of the season due to injury or become just another running back rather than the star he’s been in the past.
