5. Dante Pettis, 49ers (Sleeper)
Pettis didn’t have the most impressive rookie campaign, accumulating just 27 catches. But he was a rookie on a bad team that didn’t have much going at the quarterback position. Things will be different this season with Jimmy Garoppolo back from injury and ready to finally play a full season as a starter.
Admittedly, Pettis may not be a finished product just yet. However, whether he’s ready or not, he’s probably going to be Garoppolo’s top target in 2019. The only other candidate for the job is Jordan Matthews, who hasn’t had more than three touchdowns in a season since 2015. There may be some risk in taking Pettis too early in your fantasy draft, but there’s a good chance that he leads the 49ers in targets, giving him a ton of fantasy upside.
