7. T.J. Hockenson, Lions (Sleeper)
The Lions wouldn’t have drafted Hockenson in the top-10 if they didn’t have big plans for him. He’ll be a starter right out of the gate, and while his blocking skills won’t do much to help your fantasy team, Hockenson has a complete and well-rounded skillset, so he’ll also be involved in the Detroit passing game.
The Lions aren’t exactly loaded at wide receiver, so Matthew Stafford will have to spread the ball around and utilize his tight end. Since he’ll be important as a run blocker, Hockenson will always be on the field and a viable option on passing plays. If you look at his college numbers, they’re a little underwhelming. But keep in mind Iowa also had Noah Fant, another tight end who was a 1st-round pick this year. Hockenson will be the main man at tight end right away and have a chance to put up big fantasy numbers as a rookie.
