Sure, you might argue that things will change having used a top 10 selection on T.J. Hockenson, but the track record for production by most rookie tight ends isn’t really that favorable if you go back and look.
Further, the Lions look like they’re going to commit to running the football a lot more, and with the fewer targets available, there’s still a fair share that will head in the direction of Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.
