While most of these celebrities gave up cheering after high school, Paula Abdul made a job out of it. That’s right, before she got her big break as a singer and dancer, she was a Laker Girl for the Los Angeles Lakers. Abdul would go on to a career that includes the hit single, “Straight Up”, and she would star in films like Can’t Buy Me Love and Coming to America.

She would reach a younger generation with her role as a judge on the first nine seasons of the talent show, American Idol. Recently she completed a residency similar to Celine Deon, in Las Vegas.
