Luckily for the Kansas City Chiefs, they don’t have a history of franchise-crippling trades. The worst one we can think of for them has to be trading up in the 2002 NFL Draft for defensive tackle Ryan Sims from the University of North Carolina.

Sims was a fast-rising prospect in that year’s draft, and the Chiefs sent the Dallas Cowboys a first, third, and sixth-round pick in that year’s draft to move up just two spots, from 6th overall to 8th overall, to take him.
But Sims turned out to be a huge bust in Kansas City, while the next three players taken after Sims all turned out to be Pro Bowl selections.
