Considered to be the greatest quarterback prospect to ever come out of college, John Elway warned the Baltimore Colts, who had the #1 overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft, to not draft him, as Elway wanted nothing to do with a seemingly unstable organization and a coach whom he and his family loathed (Frank Kush). After the Colts called his bluff and drafted him, Elway famously held out, forcing Indianapolis to trade him.
