It’s really hard to pick the worst quarterback for the New England Patriots this century, considering Tom Brady has started virtually every single year since the turn of the millennium. But in 2000 (which was Brady’s rookie season), Bill Belichick and the Patriots went 5-11, helped by a below-his-standards season from quarterback Drew Bledsoe.

In 2000, Bledsoe threw for 3,291 yards in 16 games (his worst output since his rookie season, and only 17 touchdown passes (third-lowest total of his career at that time). As we all know, Bledsoe went down with an injury the following year, leading to the birth of the Brady era.
