Cleveland Browns: Baker Mayfield
With a bonafide star like Odell Beckham Jr. joining the fray, the Browns have virtually everything a team needs to be a playoff contender. Of course, it’ll all come down to the play of the quarterback. Mayfield impressed as a rookie last season, probably more than most people expected, but that doesn’t guarantee that his second pro season will go the same way.
Mayfield proved last season he can play in the league, but now consistency is the name of the game. Despite the four game-winning drives, he was just 6-7 as a starter, and a 12-9 overtime win over the Ravens was Cleveland’s only win against a playoff team. He has to cut down on his turnovers and he has to prove that he can perform against quality teams, all while dealing with high expectations. The Browns aren’t a playoff team yet, and it’s on Mayfield to make them one.
