Even after Jackson helped the Ravens make the playoffs last season, there was a little risk in trading away Joe Flacco and handing the reins over to Jackson. Baltimore’s offense is going to be based around Jackson’s unique skillset, so the pressure is on him to perform and make the offense go.

There are still lingering questions about Jackson’s ability to be a competent and consistent passer against NFL defenses. If he fails to make strides in that area, there’s only so much the Ravens will be able to do. There’s no Plan B for Baltimore outside of going to backup Robert Griffin III, who’s essentially an older version of Jackson. If the second-year quarterback falters, the Ravens will go down with him.
