Save for a few years in the early 2000’s, the Sacramento Kings have been something of a star-crossed franchise.
For example, the then-Kansas City Kings took forward Richard Washington with the 3rd overall pick in the 1976 NBA Draft, passing on the chance to take both center Robert Parish (a key member of the Boston Celtics dynasty of the 1980’s) and forward Adrian Dantley (a six-time All-Star who led the NBA in scoring two different times).
