Monk is undoubtedly the best receiver in Washington history and arguably the best player in franchise history. The quarterback he worked with the most during that time was Theismann, who was the ideal veteran quarterback to help bring Monk along during his early years in the league.

For what it’s worth, Monk helped the Redskins win two Super Bowls after Theismann was forced into retirement. However, Monk’s two best seasons were in 1984 and 1985, which were the last two seasons of Theismann’s career. During those two seasons, before the horrific injury that Theismann suffered, that combination ran circles around opposing defenses.
