Capacity: 109,901. Properly nicknamed, “The Big House,” Michigan Stadium is the 2nd-largest stadium in the world. While the official capacity is listed at 109,901, The Big House can host crowds in excess of 115,000. On September 7th, 2013, the Wolverines defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 41-30 in front of 115,109 screaming fans.
Originally built in 1927 at a cost of $950,000, Michigan Stadium had a capacity of 72,000. In 2010, Michigan completed a $226 million renovation and expansion project. The upgrades included 83 luxury boxes and 3,200 club seats. The Big House combines a unique mixture of quantity and quality.
