When the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum opened in 1923, it was one of the most expensive (cost of $955,000) and largest (capacity of 75,144) stadiums in the world. In 2013, the USC Trojans signed a 98-year lease which requires the university to make at least $100 million worth of improvements to the stadium.
Currently, the USC Trojans are the only team calling the Coliseum home, however, throughout the stadium’s history it has served as home to several famous teams from many different sports, such as the — UCLA Bruins, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Dodgers — to name a few.
