Singer Jessica Simpson turned a mostly successful music career into a relatively (less) successful acting career, having appeared in a few movies, but far more notably appearing in the reality television series “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” on MTV between 2003 and 2005. Simpson has continued her singing and acting efforts to a certain extent after that.

But Simpson’s real successes have come in “non-media” capacities. These include her fashion line, called The Jessica Simpson Collection, which has gone on to earn over $1 billion in revenue. In 2020, Simpson published a memoir titled “Open Book,” which reached number one on The New York Times Best Seller list, after selling over 59,000 copies in its first week.
