Things have gotten off to a miserable start for the offense of the San Francisco 49ers in 2018. They lost running back Jerrick McKinnon to a season-ending knee injury. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin has been in and out of the lineup since the start of the year. And, of course, Jimmy Garoppolo is now out for the season with a torn ACL.

But tight end George Kittle has been a bright spot, averaging just under 80 yards per game receiving, which is the third-highest mark in the NFL. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has done a masterful job of finding ways to get him open, and that should only continue over the course of the season. He could finish among the very best at his position in a very down year for the tight end position.
