New York Giants’ fans aren’t going to like hearing this, but the facts are the facts: take away the one 68-yard run that rookie running back Saquon Barkley had in Week 1 of the NFL season, and he’s averaging under 4.3 yards per carry this year. Even if you factor in that long run, he’s still on pace to finish with less than 1,060 yards rushing this year. Is that what they expect from the #2 overall pick?

Meanwhile, New England Patriots’ running back Sony Michel has more carries for more yards in his first five games of the NFL season than Barkley did. With Julian Edelman back in the mix and Josh Gordon getting more familiar with the offense, Michel should have plenty of open space to run.
