Fans and alumni of the University of Kansas may not want to admit this, but the school has a history of exiting the NCAA Tournament far earlier than expected, year after year. But nobody could have foreseen the 14th-seeded Bucknell Bison beating the Jayhawks, who were ranked 10th in the nation heading into the tournament, in the opening round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. That was Bucknell’s first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament, even though the school started playing intercollegiate basketball in 1896.
