23. Sterling Sharpe
Admittedly, the numbers with Sharpe don’t make him seem like one of the all-time greats at wide receiver. However, we have to remember that his career was unfortunately cut short by a neck injury he suffered late in the 1994 season. When you consider that he only played seven seasons, being as high as he is on the all-time receptions and touchdowns lists is actually quite impressive.
During his seven seasons, he went to five Pro Bowls and led the NFL in receptions on three occasions. In fact, in 1992, he became one of six receivers in NFL history to win that position’s triple crown, leading the league in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Sharpe was also the first to ever record 100-plus catches in back-to-back seasons. If you take longevity out of the equation, Sharpe is one of the truly great talents to ever play receiver in the NFL.
