The men on this list have two things in common. The first thing is that they both made it to Super Bowl LV. The second thing is that they each have fantastic partners to help support them throughout the season and the playoffs.
In two week’s time, these partnerships will have taken a massive divergence from each other. The wives and girlfriends of some players will be going on that famous celebratory trip to Disney World, or some other exotic location in celebration. The wives and girlfriends of the other players will be helping to comfort and console the broken-hearted runners-up. Both the Bucs and Chiefs will be hoping to avoid a trip to the couch.
For us though, it’s an opportunity to look back at the partnerships that provide a backdrop for the Big Game. Flip through and see what you think. Some names you’ll recognize, others you won’t.
Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek
Women ranging from former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models to even film stars have professed their love for Rob Gronkowski, the new Tampa Bay tight end. But it was former Patriots cheerleader Camille Kostek who managed to finally take the notorious party-boy off the market.
The two of them began dating in 2015 but made their first public appearance together as a couple in July of 2016. Kostek’s modeling career has taken off and she was even awarded the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover.
Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole
Travis Kelce was so desperate to find a partner he turned to the last place most of us would, reality TV. That’s right, Travis had his own reality dating show called Catching Kelce. Yes, it was awful and no, he didn’t find love.
Thankfully for the Chiefs star he has found love since the show was mercifully ended. These days he’s found in the arms of Kayla Nicole, who is described as a media personality and has worked as an on-camera host for different networks.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen
It’s no surprise that so many NFL fans hate Tom Brady — the guy has it all. Aside from being a 6-time Super Bowl Champion, Brady was lucky enough to land Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen. As a teenager, Gisele (5-foot-11) wanted to be a volleyball player, not a model.
Thankfully, she had a change of heart, because her incredibly successful modeling career has resulted in an astonishing net worth of $360 million. That means Gisele, who reportedly earns $125,000 PER DAY, has earned twice as much money as Brady. Now that is a power couple!
Damien Williams and Lilly Williams
Damien Williams was the unsung hero of the Chiefs run to the Lombardi Trophy last season, and he saved his best performance for last. Williams became the first player in Super Bowl history to rush for over 100 yards, and score a rushing and receiving touchdown. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen Williams this season as he opted out to protect the health of his mother, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
By his side, through it all is his wife, Lilly. Well, Lilly and the couple’s sweet daughter Dillon. This NFL power couple was all over the place in the post-victory euphoria of the Super Bowl victory. Just check out Lilly’s Instagram page to keep track of it all.
Mike and Ashli Evans
Mike Evans is one of the more underrated wide receivers in the NFL. But, it’s more than that. Because he’s played his entire career for a bad team it’s likely that he’s actually underperformed to the levels he could have reached. Enter Tom Brady, and the pair have taken the Bucs to the playoffs once again.
Evans is a family man at heart and has been married to his wife Ashli since 2015. Together the couple has two daughters. Evans created a bit of a viral moment when he was pictured showing up for a post-game press conference in a shirt that boldly proclaimed “I Love My Wife.” Good for you, Mike.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews
It shouldn’t come as any surprise that an Uber-talented athlete like Patrick Mahomes would be attracted to someone who’s equally as athletically talented. Mahomes and Brittany Matthews started dating when the two were just teenagers in high school. While Mahomes was a two-sport star in high school (baseball and football), Matthews excelled at soccer, enough to earn her a scholarship to the University of Texas at Tyler.
Matthews graduated from UT Tyler with a degree in Kinesiology, and currently works as a personal trainer. Her Instagram account, featuring over 143,000 followers, is filled with workout videos, pictures of her flexing her well-maintained physique, as well as photos of her and Mahomes doing “couples” things together.
Ndamukong Suh and Katya Leick
For years, the narrative around defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has always been that he’s a notoriously fearsome (if not dirty) player on the field, but a totally likable guy when he’s off the field. Or, that’s probably the story that you’d hear from Suh’s fiancee, Katya Leick.
Leick played basketball at Kansas State University but began dating Suh back when he was still a member of the Miami Dolphins. After graduating college, Leick dabbled in both Real Estate as well as television broadcasting (after studying Mass Communications while in college). In the early summer of 2019, Suh popped the question to Leick while the two were vacationing in France.
Sammy Watkins and Tala Watkins
Sammy Watkins seems to have finally found a home in KC, after having moved around a bit early in his career. He set a career-high for playoff receptions last postseason, and will soon be looking to do his part in getting the Chiefs another Super Bowl championship.
We don’t know very much about Sammy’s wife Tala, but the two have been together since 2014. The couple has two kids together. Hopefully, the whole family will be taking another big trip to Disney to celebrate dad’s big win.
Chris Godwin and Mariah DelPercio
Chris Godwin had to give up his number to the Goat when Tom Brady came to town, but we have a feeling he’s happy with the trip to the Super Bowl he’s received in return. Godwin’s numbers dropped this season, after being selected to the Pro Bowl last year, but he still had a very good year with 840 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Godwin has been with his fiance, Mariah DelPercio since the couple was in high school in Delaware. The couple had a big couple of years, launching Team Godwin Foundation in 2019 which provides financial aid to pet shelters and rescues, and in 2020 the couple got engaged.
Tyreek Hill and Sasha
Tyreek Hill and relationships don’t usually go well together, but maybe this time will be different. Hill and Instagram model Sasha have been spotted together in many photographs, and Sasha is often at Chiefs games.
We don’t know much about the pair, but Sasha’s Instagram puts her all over the country, from Atlanta to LA. Hopefully, this relationship goes well for everyone involved. There an old adage in sports that winning cure everything, and Hill may just be about to win the biggest prize there is, again.
Vita Vea and Alexus Atchley
Vita Vea is coming into form at just the right time for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He missed the first half of the season with an injury but returned in October. He has been a crucial part of the Bucs defensive line as they made their push in the second half of the season and now find themselves in the Super Bowl.
During his time out injured Vea made some important personal moves. He put a ring on it. Vea popped the question to his fiance Alexus Atchley this fall. The future Mrs. Vea is a former basketball player at the University of Washington, where they met. After graduation, she worked at the University of Arizona as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team.
Tyrann Mathieu and Sydni Paige
Inspired by Beyonce, he liked it so he put a ring on it. And not just any old ring would do for Tyrann Mathieu and his fiance Sydni Paige. No, Tyrann gave his bride-to-be a $250,000 6-carat engagement ring. That’s just the size of the center stone. The band has an additional 3.35 carats on it.
The real question should be how many carats will be in the Mathieu house if Tyrann wins another Super Bowl. Either way, there will be a whole lot of bling in the Mathieu household soon.
Jason Pierre-Paul and Farraw Germain
Jason Pierre-Paul is an incredible American success story. His parents came here as immigrants from Haiti, and their son has become super-rich just one generation later. It helps to be a freak athlete. It’s remarkable that Pierre-Paul even has the opportunity to play in the big game after blew off part of his hand in a fireworks accident.
Pierre-Paul met his partner Farraw Germain while the two were students at the University of South Florida. The couple has two children together. The Pierre-Paul family will be enjoying a home game for the Super Bowl as Raymond James Stadium is hosting the big game.
Anthony Sherman and Jessica Sherman
Anthony Sherman is a true family man. One look through his and his wife Jessica’s social media shows the family constantly having fun and goofing off, the way families should. This offseason should be something special for the Sherman’s and their 3 kids.
Last Halloween the family dressed up as Power Rangers. Now with a celebratory trip to Disney in the works, we’ll see if the pick up any inspiration for this year’s costumes. We’ll be glued to the couple’s social media accounts to see with family fun they have next.
Tristan Wirfs and Meredith Sutton
Tristan Wirfs was everything the Bucs hoped he would be when they selected him with the 13th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was a plug and play upgrade on what they had at the tackle position, which is a good thing considering they spent all the money bringing Tom Brady to town. You’d hope they would have the protection to keep him upright.
Wirfs girlfriend is an athlete herself. Meredith Sutton is a volleyball player at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. According to her athlete profile, Sutton is from Minnesota so it’s unclear how she met Wirfs, an Iowa native but they two seem very happy together. Maybe it’s all the “Minnesota Nice.”
Mitchell Schwartz and Brooke Lynn
The origin story of this romance is incredible. Lynn was watching one of Schwartz’s games and was seated next to Schwartz’s best friend. Apparently, the friend thought the two would make a good match and asked if he could get her number to give to the lineman. She said yes, and the rest is history.
As unbelievable as that story is, what’s even more unbelievable is that the Chiefs lineup included Schwartz and three other former Cleveland Browns, lineman. Not good enough in Cleveland, but all earned Super Bowl rings in Kansas City.
Shaq Barrett and Jordanna Barrett
Shaq Barrett has taken the long road to an NFL career. He started his college career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, which promptly cut their football program after his freshman year. Then he went undrafted out of Colorado State, where he played his final three years of eligibility. Yet, here he is at 28 playing in his second Super Bowl.
His wife, Jordanna, has been at his side since the two met in college. Their lives are a lot busier than they were in college as their family has grown from the two of them to adding three kids. Jordanna is the founder of Fifty50 Foundation, which works with children in the foster care system.
Demarcus Robinson and Davontay Moore
Davontay Moore is the stunning girlfriend of NFL player, Demarcus Robinson -whom you may recognize best as a “Legion Of Zoom” member with the Kansas City Chiefs. Robinson’s fourth pro season already has been the best of his career. He entered the NFL as the fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
It’s an exciting time for the 25-year-old who is also expecting his first child, with Davontay. Both attended the University of Florida, where they met. Davontay graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science, Sports Management, and Event management. She has a nice following on social media as well, with over 5k followers on Instagram. The two are expecting their first child together.
Bruce Arians and Christine Arians
Bruce Arians and his wife Christine have known each other since they were 14 years old. The couple met in school, followed each other to college, and have been happily married since 1971. The Arians have three children together, including a son who formerly played for the Buffalo Bills.
While her husband may get all the attention for coaching a team to the Super Bowl, Christine is no slouch herself and is a graduate of Temple Law School. These days she keeps busy running the Arians Family Foundation.
Andy Reid and Tammy Reid
Andy Reid and his wife Tammy have been together for a long time. Longer than his now-ended Super Bowl drought. Tammy is a coach’s wife through and through.
She even talks like a coach. When asked about how their family runs, she answered, “My job as a mom is to read the coverage, I call it. I call Andrew and say, you need to be at this function.” Sure thing, coach. This coaching family has earned the vacation they’re about to go on.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Desiree Jones
When the Chiefs drafted former LSU standout running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the whole league groaned. Like that offense needed any more weapons. In his debut as a pro, Edwards-Helaire rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. Not bad for your first professional game. Unfortunately a Week 15 hip and ankle injury ruled Edwards-Helaire out for the rest of the season.
By his side during rehab is his long-time girlfriend Desiree Jones. The couple has reportedly been together since 2013, which means they’ve been together since they were 13. After high school, both of the love birds went to LSU, where Jones studied Child and Family Studies.
Chris Jones and Sheawna Weathersby
Chris Jones is one of the unsung heroes of the Kansas City Chiefs success these past few seasons. Clearly, the Chiefs front office thinks so too because before this season they gave him a massive $80 million contract to keep him in town. That’s a whole lotta coin. He’s worth it though as he’s picked up his second straight Pro Bowl selection this year.
Things are going well for Jones at home too as he gets to spend his downtime with Sheawna Weathersby. She may not be a Pro Bowler with a new 8-figure contract, but she’s got her own Instagram fame to keep her warm. It’s unclear whether or not Weathersby is the mother of either of Jones’ two children but the whole family is pictured together often.
Harrison Butker and Isabelle Butker
Not often do placekickers make NFL WAG’s lists so we thought it was time to give the Butker family some love. Harrison, who has been in the league for 4 seasons now is quietly becoming the league’s best kicker. In fact, he’s having one of the greatest careers of any kicker in NFL history. Butker is already the Chiefs career-long field goal leader, and his 90.08% accuracy rate is second all-time among kickers behind Justin Tucker.
Butker has been with his wife, Isabelle since high school. That’s right, they were high school sweethearts at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. The couple are devout Catholics whose faith plays an important role in their lives and marriage. Just check out Harrison’s Instagram for proof.
Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Florence Dube-Moreau
The most interesting Super Bowl couple won’t be at this year’s big game. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif chose to opt-out of this season due to the pandemic. No, he’s not worried about his own health, he’s worried about others. Duvernay-Tardif is a licensed doctor and chose to return to his native Quebec to put his best skills to work saving lives.
His girlfriend has an equally impressive career. While she may not save lives like her boyfriend, she does help to inspire people. Florence Dube-Moreau is the curator of a contemporary art gallery in Montreal. It’s a shame they’ll miss out on the festivities this year. Oh wait, there won’t be any festivities thanks to the pandemic.
Mecole Hardman and Reginae Carter
It’s almost unfair that a quarterback as talented as Patrick Mahomes has weapons at his disposal like Mecole Hardman, but that’s the way it goes. Hardman has made the NFL look easy, winning a Super Bowl and makign the Pro Bowl in his rookie season. This season he’s helped the Chiefs to yet another Super Bowl and will be looking to make it two for two.
Hardman’s girlfriend is none other than Reginae Carter, and if you don’t know who she is you probably know who her father is. That’s right, Carter is the daughter of the recently pardoned rapper Lil Wayne. Carter is a do it all media star with acting credits, music credits, and author credits. The girl does it all.
