It’s a shame the Bears no longer have cheerleaders as their former squad had one of the best names in the entire NFL, the Honey Bears. The group performed for fans from 1976 to 1986. They were disbanded after Super Bowl XX
The group was a hit with fans, but after owner George Halas died his daughter took over and axed the group. Some fans believe that there is a “Honey Bear Curse” on the team due to their unceremonious firing directly after Super Bowl XX. The Bears have yet to win another Super Bowl since the Honey Bears were let go.
