Though Derrick Thomas was taken away from this Earth tragically early, one could argue that he was put on this planet — albeit for a brief time — to make life absolutely miserable for opposing quarterbacks.

After recording an NCAA-record 27 sacks in 1988, and finishing with the most career sacks in college football history, Thomas became the 4th overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, taken by the Kansas City Chiefs The nine-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro was most famously known for setting the record for most sacks in one game (seven).
When he died in 2000, he had accumulated 126.5 career sacks, good for 12th place on the all-time list at the time.
