Eddie Lacy

Eddie Lacy’s protruding waistline and never-ending battles against his personal bulge overshadowed the fact that he was a stud running back in high school and first-team All-SEC selection while at the University of Alabama. Listed at a “svelte” 231lbs coming out of high school (which was probably a lot lower than his real weight), people saw him as a potential small Jerome Bettis or bigger Frank Gore.

Though Lacy did run for over 1,000 yards his first two seasons with the Green Bay Packers, his weight and conditioning continually drew the ire of former Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy, and after signing a contract (with strong weight stipulations) with the Seattle Seahawks, he ran for only 179 yards in nine games in Seattle in 2017.
