For the kids out there, no Lionel Richie isn’t just Nicole Richie’s adoptive father. He’s actually kind of a big deal on his own. His career started as a member of the Commodores who are famous for their hits “Brick House” and “Three Times a Lady.”

Like is often the case, Richie outgrew the Commodores and went solo in the early 80s. His first solo album contained three top 5 hits, including “Truly.” Over the course of his career, Richie has sold over 90 million record and is a three-time Grammy Award winner.
