Clooney grew up in Kentucky and got his first regular role on the sitcom Rosanne, where he played Rosanne’s boss. But it was his work on the medical drama ER that made him famous. He parlayed that success into a film career that includes Ocean’s Eleven, Syriana, and as a frequent collaborator with the Coen Brothers.

George Clooney has gone beyond being just a Hollywood celebrity. Sure, he takes a job here and there, but he spends just as much of his time trying to help the world become a better place. He’s served as a United Nations Messenger of Peace and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
