The song is true, girls do just want to have fun. That is a message Cyndi Lauper got across in her 1983 song of the same name. That song was part of her debut album, She’s So Unusual, which was the first debut album by a female artist to achieve four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lauper is incredibly talented and not just at making music. She is one of the few singers who have won three of the four awards to the EGOT. Lauper is the winner of a Grammy, Emmy and a Tony, so if she picks up an Oscar someday the EGOT club will have a new, funky member.
